About Me

Hello there!

I'm Maggie, a painter, art tutor, and digital designer based in Walyalup, Fremantle, Western Australia.

My artistic journey is as diverse as the landscapes I love to paint. My passion lies in creating vibrant, thought provoking scenes populated by long-limbed characters. These scenes are often informed by real memories and places but are also semi-fictional in nature. Beyond my canvas, I also find joy in crafting merchandise designs, both for businesses and my own small brand, Magg Daddy.

In recent years, I've shared my painting knowledge at the Fremantle Art Centre and taught screen printing to the Stackwood Community. I've been part of various group shows in Perth, including shows held at the No More Blank Walls pop-up space and Best Wishes Cafe. In 2021, I held a solo exhibition at Pig Melon titled Munchkin Land.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Fine Art from The University of Western Australia in 2017, where an interest in Psychology and Art Therapy blossomed. Following that, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies at Murdoch University in 2020 after a year of globetrotting with my partner. Passionate about using art as therapy, I infuse this ethos into my role as an art tutor, emphasizing the release of perfectionism, nurturing imagination, and trusting intuition in creative choices.

I hope exploring my website brings you joy. For any inquiries about my artwork, I'd love to hear from you! xx
